A man was found with a gunshot wound outside an apartment building in the Cardinal Valley neighborhood Thursday night.
Lexington police Lt. Matt Brotherton said the man’s injury was not thought to be life-threatening.
“We’re currently trying to identify a suspect,” he said.
Brotherton said police believe the victim and shooter knew each other.
Scanner traffic indicated that the victim was pointing at an apartment building on nearby Daniel Court and that officers were trying to make contact with someone there.
Police were called to the complex at 2030 Jeffrey Court, off Village Drive, after a man of about 50 years old was shot in the chest, according to scanner traffic.
