Lexington police seek gunman who fired on crowd outside strip club

Lexington police were looking Friday for a man who fired multiple shots into a crowd outside the Camelot West strip club and wounded a bouncer in the leg.

The bouncer, whose name was not released by police, did not appear to have life-threatening injuries when he was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital shortly after 2:21 a.m. Friday, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.

Witnesses at the club on Alexandria Drive said a man assaulted one of the waitresses inside the club, police said. Bouncers intervened, and the man went to his car, retrieved a gun and fired multiple rounds into a crowd that had gathered outside. The bouncer was hit.

The alleged shooter was last seen getting into a black sport-utility vehicle, heading toward Versailles Road on Alexandria Drive.
