Explosion at Kentucky home leaves one person dead, two others critically injured

One person has died and two others were in critical condition after an explosion at a residence in Breckinridge County Saturday morning.

Kentucky State Police said a preliminary investigation suggests that a gas leak might have caused the explosion, which was reported at 11:10 a.m. at 731 Camp Green Shores Lane in McDaniels.

The identity of the person who died will be determined by autopsy at the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, state police said.

Joshua Lucas, 29, of McDaniels, and Timothy Randall, 56, of Science Hill in Pulaski County, were taken to University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

State police said they do not have reason to suspect foul play.
