Kentucky Coach John Calipari undergoes successful hip surgery
University of Kentucky men's basketball coach John Calipari underwent surgery on his ailing right hip on Friday morning, according to a report on his personal website, CoachCal.com.
Calipari, 55, suffered with the painful hip throughout the 2013-14 season and mentioned several times he planned to undergo surgery during the off-season.
According to CoachCal.com, Calipari had the hip successfully replaced and is currently recovering.
The hip replacement surgery was Calipari's second. His left hip was replaced in 2004, when he was the head coach at Memphis.
