Bullitt East star Lindsey Duvall committed to play basketball for the University of Kentucky on Tuesday.

Duvall — a 5-foot-9 prospect in the class of 2017 — is ranked by ESPN as the No. 3 point guard in her class and the No. 10 overall player nationally. She averaged 23.7 points and 7.5 rebounds as a sophomore last season and has been playing varsity ball since the seventh grade.

UK hosted Duvall for an unofficial visit last month for Big Blue Madness, and she has long been one of the Wildcats' top targets in the class of 2017.

Duvall is a major recruiting coup for Coach Matthew Mitchell and the Cats, who already have commitments from 6-4 post player Madison Treece and 5-6 point guard Kameron Roach for the class of 2017. ESPN ranks Treece as the No. 30 overall player in the class and Roach as the No. 56 overall prospect.

ESPN publishes women's basketball recruiting rankings dating back to 2007, and Duvall joins Linnae Harper as UK's only top-10 commitment in that span. Harper announced last month that she would transfer after two seasons in Lexington.

Duvall and Bullitt East are scheduled to play in Lexington on Jan. 16 against Lafayette. They open their season Dec. 1 at Presentation.
