Darius ‘Killer’ Miller 8-for-9 on threes in Game 1 of German league finals
Former Mason County High School and University of Kentucky star Darius Miller is trying to add to another championship to the three he already has collected.
Miller — who has won a state title with the Royals (2008), an NCAA title with UK (2012) and a German league title with Brose Baskets (2015) — scored a game-high 26 points in Game 1 of Germany’s Beko Basketball League finals. Brose Baskets defeated Ratiopharm Ulm 101-82.
The league referred to him as “Killer Miller” on its website and “The Differencemaker” on Twitter after he connected on eight of nine three-point attempts. He was also 2-for-2 at the free-throw line, and he had four assists, one rebound and one blocked shot.
Miller averaged 9.4 points and 2.8 assists during the regular season.
He has stepped it up a notch in the playoffs with 12.6 points and 2.6 assists per game.
He shot 43.9 percent from three-point range during the regular season, and has made 61.8 percent during the postseason.
