Based on the books by Ezra Jack Keats, the Lexington Children’s Theatre, 418 W. Short St., presents, “The Snowy Day and other stories,” at 2 p.m., Nov. 4. This celebration of the seasons of life features musical numbers, shadow puppetry and characters from his award-winning children’s books. The American Shakespeare Center on Tour brings Shakespeare’s “The Comedy of Errors,” to Centre College’s Norton Center for the Arts in Danville at 8 p.m. on Nov. 2. Celebrating 60 years of singing

The Lexington Singers celebrate their 60th anniversary with the Brahm’s “Requiem” at 4 p.m., Nov. 4 at Calvary Baptist Church, 150 E. High St. The requiem, written composed between 1865 and 1868, features a chorus, soprano and baritone soloists and is fully sung in the German language. For the love of Frankenstein

The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning, 251 W. Second St., celebrates the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley’s most popular novel with ’“Carnegie Classics: Frankenstein” at 7 p.m. Saturday. AthensWest Theatre Company will perform, sculptor Bob Morgan will create art, Lexington Film League will have a cinematic surprise and goth rock will be played by David Austin. Horses putting on a show

The National Horse Show is at the Alltech Arena at the Kentucky Horse Park through Sunday. The country’s top hunter horses and riders will compete in a variety of show jumping events starting at 7 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. General admission is $5 Friday, $10 on Saturday and Sunday.
