Standup comedian, actress and “high functioning hot mess” Heather McMahan will bring her Farewell Tour (billed as “her first, and possibly her last” tour) to the Lexington Opera House Jan. 14.

Promoters for the opera house announced the upcoming show in a news release Friday.

McMahan appeared on the “Today” show Friday to plug the new Netflix romantic comedy “Love Hard,” in which she appears.

She told hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager that being back on stage for live shows again after a year off “feels so good.”

“I think especially after this year we went through, people just want to laugh and they want to let go, and the audiences have been so insane,” said McMahan, who has also guest hosted “Today” several times previously. “This is the biggest gift, that I can do this for a living and make people giggle.”

Tickets are on sale now.

The Ole Miss grad’s frank, self-deprecating style of humor — she unabashedly proclaims that she has “a thick neck and thin ankles” — seems to resonate with many women and has garnered her more than 690,000 followers on Instagram.

Good Grief,” a television show based on McMahan’s life, is in the works, and she produces a popular podcast, “Absolutely Not with Heather McMahan.”
