It’s always good to plan ahead — so here are the 10 best local events in Lexington in the month ahead to put on your calendar. This list and guide of the best weekday and weekend events and happenings around Central Kentucky includes ticket prices for fun things like live music concerts, comedy shows, Valentine’s Day events and much more at local venues.

Kentucky Sports Boat and Recreation Show

It might still be cold outside, but you can start dreaming of warmer weather at the Kentucky Sports Boat and Recreation Show at the Central Bank Center, 430 W Vine St.

Many vendors will be there, as the best in outdoor boating and outdoor experiences will be on display 2-9 p.m Jan. 30, 10 a.m.– 9 p.m. Jan. 31., 10 a.m.– 8 p.m. Feb. 1. and 10 a.m.– 5 p.m. Feb. 2.

Black History Month: Jackie Robinson movie screening

Kick off Black History Month with a powerful movie depicting the challenges and triumphs of baseball icon Jackie Robinson. The 5 p.m., Feb. 3 screening of “42” is free and open to all ages at the Dunbar Community Center, 545 N. Upper St. Snacks will be provided. Visit: lexingtonky.gov

‘Mike & Molly’ actor, comedian Billy Gardell at Comedy Off Broadway

Actor, producer and stand-up comedian Billy Gardell will have five shows at Comedy Off Broadway, 161 Lexington Green Circle, Feb. 6-8. Gardell, who is best known for his role as Officer Mike Biggs from 2010-2016 on the hit TV show, “Mike & Molly,” now stars in the CBS series, “Bob Hearts Abishola.” Tickets are $35-$45. Midway Chocolate Stroll

Sample over a dozen chocolatey treats from local Midway businesses during the town’s Valentine’s Day-themed chocolate stroll on Feb. 8 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Free.

Downtown Frankfort Chocolate Stroll

For Valentine’s Day, Frankfort is hosting a sweet stroll through Kentucky’s capital city starting at 5 p.m. Feb. 8. Starting at Starting Capital City Museum, 325 Ann St., downtown shops, museums, bars and restaurants are taking part in the chocolate fest, offering their individual twists on everyone’s favorite confection.

Valentine Night Market at Greyline Station

Greyline Station, 101 W Loudon Ave., will host a Valentine Night Market 4 p.m.-9 p.m. Feb. 8. The sip and shop event will have more than 50 vendors so you can find a Valentine’s Day gift gift plus entertainment. Visit: kentuckypop-ups.com

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill Naughty at Night Event

Rules governed all aspects of life at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, from when brethren and sisters could meet socially to what foods were acceptable at the dinner table.

A Valentine’s Day weekend experience explores the naughtier side of life at Pleasant Hill and what temptation and sin they faced. Naughty at Night evenings on Feb. 14 and 15 will start with forbidden foods, including a Shaker Village signature cocktail.

A special stroll through some historic buildings will include stories about the naughtier side of life at Shakertown and the preservationist effort. Tickets are $25-$30. Visit: shakervillageky.org/events/naughty-at-night

Kentucky Golf Expo at the Central Bank Center

More than 66,000 square feet of golf under one roof at the 2025 Kentucky Golf Expo Feb. 21-23 at the Central Bank Center, 430 W Vine St. There will be golf vendors, entertainment and exhibitors. Tickets are $12, and kids 12 and under are free. Visit: kentuckygolfexpo.com

Lexington Ballet Company 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Lexington Opera House

The Lexington Ballet Company will continue its 50th season celebration with “Local Legacy” featuring Emmy Award-winning cellist Ben Sollee at the Lexington Opera House on Feb. 21 and 22. Lexingtonian artists’ works will be highlighted during the performance.

Blake Shelton ‘Friends & Heroes’ Tour 2025 at Rupp Arena

Country music superstar Blake Shelton will have Rupp on its feet when his latest concert tour kicks off in Lexington for a 7 p.m. Feb. 27 show.

The “Friends & Heroes 2025” tour will feature Craig Morgan, Deana Carter, and Trace Adkins performing with Shelton plus guest Emily Ann Roberts. Tickets start at $32.50. Visit: centralbankcenter.com
