Graeter’s Ice Cream, the popular Cincinnati-based and America’s oldest family-owned ice cream company, has unveiled a new “bold and evolved” brand design.
The redesign kept the classic Graeter’s script on its logo, while adding a new crown icon to celebrate the Queen City of Cincinnati and the company’s legacy. The redesign also restored the brand’s color palette to the company’s signature shade of maroon.
Graeter’s also introduced a new tagline, “Taste the Graetest,” to reflect the company’s craftsmanship, quality and pursuit of the best flavor possible in its 155-year history.
“We’ve always believed that being the ‘Graetest’ means doing things our way — the right way — even when shortcuts exist,” said Richard Graeter, fourth-generation president and CEO of Graeter’s. “Our rebrand honors everything in our past while confidently looking ahead to the next generation of ice cream lovers. We’re setting the stage for the next chapter of taste.”
The new brand design was created in collaboration with Dewhaus, an award-winning design firm that previously worked with Starbucks, Google, Adidas and others. The branding is already visible online and will roll out in parlors, grocery stores and advertising over the next year.
Graeter’s customers will see the new design on this year’s holiday flavor collection, which is available now at Graeters.com. This year’s lineup debuts three new limited-time flavors — Cozy Hot Cocoa, Crème Brûlée and Spirited Eggnog — while bringing back fan-favorite Peppermint Stick and signature Black Raspberry Chip.
Each holiday flavor collection features two pints of Peppermint Stick and one pint each of the other flavors. One bundle costs $84.95.
The holiday flavors are being rolled out at all Graeter’s parlors weekly throughout November. Cozy Hot Cocoa and Black Raspberry Chip are already being sold, and Crème Brûlée is the next flavor to go on sale beginning Nov. 7”
Peppermint Stick will be available in parlors starting Nov. 14, and Spirited Eggnog will go on sale Nov. 24.
Graeter’s is known for its dense, rich French Pot ice cream. The company has more than 50 retail stores and ships more than 300,000 pints of ice cream annually.
