'70s Rock Band Announce Update For 'Final' Tour

Five decades after they helped ignite the punk movement, The Damned are getting ready to say goodbye-but not quite yet. The popular band just shared an exciting update for their ongoing farewell tour, and fans are sure to celebrate the news.

The legendary British group-widely regarded as one of the pioneers of U.K. punk-has added new dates in Australia and New Zealand to their ongoing Final Damnation Tour, extending what's being billed as their farewell run into September 2026.

The newly announced leg includes four shows across the region. The Damned are kicking it off in Auckland, New Zealand, before heading to major Australian cities Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne.

The show in Auckland is set for Sept. 8, with Sydney on Sept. 10, Brisbane the next day, and the final Australia show in Melbourne on Sept. 13. Tickets for the shows are set to go on presale April 22, with general sales opening April 24.

Despite 50 years of breaking barriers and reaching great heights in their career, the Australia tour is an extra special milestone for The Damned, as they will be performing at the Sydney Opera House for the first time.

Band member Rat Scabies commented on the major tour, saying in a statement, "Half a century on and who'd have thought we would still be upright and breathing? We never thought we'd make it this far and neither did you! But here we are, a finely tuned engine. The Damned still has the power and finesse to excite, entertain and accelerate into our 50th year."

"With 50 years of catalogue to choose from, only the best songs from our chequered history will be performed, and with the passion and commitment all good music lovers deserve," said Captain Sensible, teasing the setlist. "You know we won't disappoint."

Some songs that The Damned appeared to confirm will be played were "Eloise," "New Rose," "Neat Neat Neat," "Love Song," and "Smash It Up."

The upcoming Australia and New Zealand dates will follow a slew of tour stops in the U.K. and Europe throughout 2026.
