Phoebe Bridgers brings pop-up concert series to The Burl in Lexington. What we know
Indie folk artist Phoebe Bridgers will play a pop-up show at The Burl in Lexington on Friday night, according to information posted at the venue on Friday morning.
Bridgers has been playing a series of shows that are not announced until the day of the show. Lexington is the latest, with tickets being sold beginning at noon Friday at the venue. Tickets, sold in the form of wristbands, are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis, according to posters at The Burl.
Doors for the show will open at 6 p.m. on Friday, according to posters displayed at The Burl. Shortly before 9:30 a.m., a long line had already assembled at the venue. At 10:30 a.m., the line for tickets was cut off.
Wristbands will be sold for $50, plus fees and taxes, in consecutive order to those at the venue box office. Tickets are only sold in-person, one ticket per person. Capacity is “very limited,” according to posters at The Burl, and the show is open to all ages.
Bridgers has been playing new songs at the shows, as well as her older music, according to posts online. Cell phones and cameras are not allowed, giving fans an intimate and inside look at her new music.
Bridgers, who found her start in the Los Angeles indie music scene, broke her three-year concert hiatus at The Liberty in Roswell, New Mexico, on May 8. The concert was unannounced until the day of the performance, where posters began to appear at local record stores and restaurants.
Bridgers went on to perform nine more shows across the southern and southeastern United States, each unannounced and drawing more speculation. Fans of Bridgers have gone on to make state-wide group chats to coordinate clues and where they believe she is going to play next.
She’s recently played pop-up shows in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Macon, Georgia, which lead many to speculate online that Lexington could be one of the future shows.
