Stewart Copeland Opens Up About His Relationship With Sting
So, how are Police drummer Stewart Copeland and Sting getting along these days? Apparently, these two are getting along fairly well. Copeland is opening up about his relationship with his former bandmate, and he insists there’s no drama.
Speaking with Billboard, Copeland says that the members of the Police, including Copeland, Sting and guitarist Andy Summers, “get along just fine.” He also says that he and Sting keep in touch and often talk about “kids, Instagram memes” and more.
So, why do these two get along so well? Copeland says that it’s because they shared a special time together. They “had a spell where our music universes overlapped and we created some incredible stuff.”
“We really achieved everything we needed to achieve,” he adds. “Really, as I’ve been saying a lot recently, ol’ Sting-O and I, we make music for different reasons, and it has a different place in our lives. So, we get along great as long as we're not trying to make music together.”

Copeland is performing on his Have I Said Too Much? – The Police, Hollywood, and Other Adventures spoken word tour.
He may seem busy on the road, but Copeland says that he considers himself “fully retired” from music.

“I’ve had a career in music; it worked out well. Now I just do it for kicks and put (music) up on YouTube for folks to enjoy, without any agenda,” he tells Billboard. “I’m not chasing the charts; if I make a record, it’s probably gonna cost me money. You can’t make a living writing opera, but it’s a lot of fun.”
