A 'Phenomenal' Oreo Flavor Is Back in the U.S. for the First Time in Nearly a Decade
One of Oreo's most-missed flavors just reappeared on store shelves, and longtime fans are not staying quiet about it.
Cinnamon Bun Oreos are back in the U.S. for a limited time, the first time the cookie has returned stateside in nearly a decade.
The cookie is featured on Oreo's official site, with packs spotted at Target and Walmart so far. "OREO brought back the OG Cinnamon Bun cookies," a post about the popular snack wrote, calling out the original recipe fans have been requesting for years. Early reactions back that up, with one shopper who grabbed a pack at Walmart calling the taste "phenomenal."

The cookie pairs cinnamon-flavored wafers with a cinnamon bun flavored creme, per the package, and is back as a limited-time release.
Cinnamon Bun Oreos first launched in January 2016 and quickly won fans before disappearing from U.S. shelves. The cookie stuck around in Canada, which left American fans importing packs or paying marked-up resale prices to get a taste. The flavor also sits among the most-requested picks in Oreo's ongoing campaign to revive discontinued cookies. Other retired favorites in the running for a comeback vote include Cookie Butter, Red Velvet and Maple Crème.
This is the latest in a busy stretch of Oreo throwbacks. The brand recently brought back its S'mores cookie and relaunched Cakesters with a new recipe, and last year it revived cookie dough for the first time in 10 years.
As with any limited edition, the window is the catch. Cinnamon Bun Oreos are back "for a limited time," so fans hoping to relive 2016 will want to check shelves sooner rather than later.
