$1 million gifts to friends — George Clooney’s generosity makes headlines
Kentucky native George Clooney is not just an award winning actor, he’s also reportedly an extremely generous friend.
In a recent MSNBC Headliners interview, Rande Gerber said Clooney gave 14 of his closest friends $1 million each during a 2013 dinner party, according to E! News. Clooney gave the money in black suitcases and also paid the taxes on the gifts, Gerber said in the interview.
Gerber, an entrepreneur who is married to Cindy Crawford, also said that Clooney told the group how much they meant to him and that he wanted to “give back” after all they’d done for him, according to E! News.
Not long after word of Clooney’s generosity to his friends spread on Tuesday, another report came out saying that he and his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Clooney, passed out noise-canceling headphones to passengers on a recent flight, according to Us Weekly. The two were flying with their 6-month-old twins.
With the headphones, the pair gave passengers a note saying the twins might be noisy and that they hoped the headphones would help “make the flight a little quieter,” Us Weekly reported.
