Fans of actress and singer Laura Bell Bundy, who grew up in Lexington, have a few new opportunities to catch her on the small screen.

Bundy made a first appearance on an episode of “Call Me Kat,” which stars Mayim Bialik, on Thursday, playing Nicole, a new love interest for Cheyenne Jackson‘s character Max. Bundy’s character is a piano teacher who brought out the jealousy in Bialik’s Kat by singing a little “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.”

“This Kentucky girl loves doing a show based in Kentucky,” Bundy wrote in a Facebook post about the sitcom, which is set in Louisville, where Bialik’s character has opened a cat cafe.

TV Insider reported that Bundy will have a recurring role. The show, which is produced by Bialik and is in its second season, airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Fox.

She also has a recurring role in the new live-action version of a long-running animated series, “The Fairly OddParents,” which aired on Nickelodeon from 2001 to 2017.

“The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder” brings back the animated wish-granting fairy godparents Wanda and Cosmo, who remain animated in the live-action world of step-siblings Vivian “Viv” Turner (Audrey Grace Marshall) and Roy Raskin (Tyler Wladis).

Bundy plays Roy’s mother, Rachel Raskin, opposite Ryan-James Hatanaka of “When Hope Calls,” “Nancy Drew” and “Nurses.” A full 13-episode season of the show began streaming on Paramount+ on March 31.

“I’ve never done more accents or almost peed my pants more on set,” Bundy said of the role in a Facebook post in February. “This show is really the joy and laughter we all need after two years of a real doozy!”

Bundy, who turned 41 Sunday, originated the Broadway roles of Amber Von Tussle in “Hairspray” and Elle Woods in “Legally Blonde,” the latter of which garnered her a Tony nomination. She has a host of television and movie credits and has released several albums, including last year’s “Women of Tomorrow.”
