2020 Railbird festival canceled, plans to return to Keeneland in 2021
The 2020 Railbird Festival, which had been set for its second run at Keeneland in August, has been canceled, with the event citing “circumstances beyond our control.”
“The health and safety of our fans, artists, staff, and community is our number one priority,” a statement on Railbird’s website reads. “Rest assured Railbird will return to the grounds at Keeneland August 20-21, 2021.”
According to the statement, current ticketholders for the 2020 festival will be able to hold on to their tickets for next year. To retain their tickets, ticketholders must log on to their Front Gate account and select the “rollover option.” Ticketholders will have until July 13 at 8 p.m. to rollover their tickets.
Additionally, Railbird is planning to continue with the release of their 2020 Railbird Select Single Barrel Bourbons. According to the release, all 2020 ticketholders who are 21 and over who retain their tickets for 2021 will have early access this fall to purchase the bourbon from Railbird’s partners at Justins’ House of Bourbon.
“In addition, we’re working on new ways to activate our original weekend in 2020 with preferred access in mind for 2021 rollover ticket holders,” the statement reads. “We cannot thank the city of Lexington, our dedicated fans and partners, and everyone who’s come together to help build this amazing experience enough for their continued support.”
This year’s Railbird lineup was set to include Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit and Maren Morris. Other artists included Colter Wall, The Decemberists, Trampled by Turtles, Tanya Tucker and Young the Giant.
