Popular Lexington outdoor summer concert series is back after abrupt cancellation
A popular outdoor summer concert series that features local bands is making a return after an abrupt cancellation roughly two months ago.
Lakeside Live, which started in 2016, will host a return show Friday from 7-10 p.m. at Lexington Green. There will be shows every following Friday until September 6.
This Friday’s show will feature NVRMND, a 90s rock cover band that plays songs from Alice In Chains, Spacehog, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Candlebox and more.
The summer concert series at Lexington Green was abruptly canceled in May just 10 days after the series started. Scott Davidson with Langley Properties, which manages Lexington Green, previously said they were stunned at the cancellation as well and blamed Playback Sound & Lighting, which had organized the series.
Playback Sound & Lighting and owner David Trivisonno did not respond to previous requests for comment.
After the cancellation, Lexington Green did what they could to make the concert series still happen this year, Davidson said.
“In a short amount of time, we have regrouped, revived, and revitalized Lakeside Live with the help of our team,” Davidson said in an email. “I would like to thank our sponsors who have contributed as well, which include Joseph Beth Booksellers, Palmers Fresh Grill and 15 Club. We hope you’ll give us another shot.”
Lexington Green Lakeside Live features local bands and musicians playing by the lake behind Joseph-Beth Booksellers and Palmers Fresh Grill. Fans often brought chairs and blankets, sitting outdoors and enjoying food and beverages from the nearby restaurants and bars.
