Chamber Music Society of Central Kentucky

Lexington music fans can hear one of the area’s biggest voices in an intimate setting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the Singletary Center for the Arts recital hall when tenor Gregory Turay sings with the Chamber Players of Central Kentucky in a new arrangement of Franz Schubert’s song cycle “Die Schöne Müllerin.” Originally composed for voice and piano, Turay commissioned the new arrangement to include a string quartet from Lexington composer and arranger Daniel Arnold. Violinist Daniel Mason said, “I have always envied singers and pianists for their access to this work and jumped at the chance to experience from the inside.” Tickets are $25 for adults, $7.50 for students. 859-257-4929. UK Dance Theatre

Contemporary works from six choreographers explore complex topics such as sexual assault, isolation and the search for happiness. ‘Once In a Blue Moon’

Asbury University presents a screwball comedy about a successful New York photographer drawn back to his North Carolina hometown by his grandmother, determined to reconnect him with his high school sweetheart. ‘Sweeney Todd’

Kentucky Conservatory Theatre’s WinterFest presents the second weekend of its unique take on the classic Stephen Sondheim musical, which places the story of the demon barber of Fleet Street in purgatory. Dinner theater performances are at 7 p.m. nightly through Sunday at the Distillery Square Event Center at 903 Manchester Street, Suite 120.
