Eckert’s Orchard open for season
Versailles family farm Eckert’s Orchard, 1396 Pinckard Pike, opens for the season April 29 with pick-your-own strawberries (beginning in early to mid-May), blackberries (June), peaches (July - mid-August) and apples (mid-August). Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event
Kentucky’s signature equestrian event, The Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event returns to the Kentucky Horse Park, 4089 Iron Works Pike, with fans at full capacity and ticket sales at record levels. Canceled in 2020 and held without fans last year, the event is sometimes called the triathlon of the equestrian world because riders navigate through three demanding disciplines — dressage, cross-country and stadium jumping — on one horse. The three-day event runs through Sunday with the popular cross-country competition beginning Saturday at 9 a.m. Grounds admission is free for kids 12 and under and $10-$66 depending on day and event.
