Best Bets: St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
Lexington celebrates the Irish holiday on Saturday with a full day of events
The Shamrock Shuffle 3K starts at 8 a.m. at Mill and Vine streets. Proceeds benefit Lexington Habitat for Humanity. Registration is $25 in advance, $30 day of race. Call 859-252-2224 or go to Shamrockshuffle3k.com.
Enjoy live music, food, children’s activities and more at the Irish Festival at Cheapside Park, 251 West Main Street. The fun starts at 11 a.m. with the blessing of the keg and continues until 7 p.m. Don’t miss the St. Patrick’s Day Parade at 1 p.m., starting at Midland Avenue and proceeding down Main Street to Upper Street. Arts Showcase Weekend
LexArts presents a sampling of the diverse arts of Lexington with events Friday through Sunday.
All are open to the public and most are free, though some might require reservations and tickets. Many events are at ArtsPlace, the Downtown Arts Center, the Farish Theater at the Central Public Library and the Lyric Theatre and Cultural Arts Center.

‘Thy Will Be Done: An Easter Oratorio’

The actor and comedian who starred as Peanut on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne brings his stand-up act to Comedy Off Broadway at The Mall at Lexington Green.
