Along with the usual milk and bread, you might want to add a Derby hat to your grocery list this spring.

At Kroger Marketplaces and a few other Kroger stores in Kentucky you’ll find women’s fashion hats, just in time for Keeneland and Derby. It’s the second year the grocery store chain has offered a collection of women’s hats and fascinators.

Kroger worked with buyers at its Fred Meyer stores on the West Coast to assemble the collection from August Hats.

“We’re having a lot of fun with these hats,” said Janet Cundiff, Marketplace category manager for Kroger. Prices start at just $19.99 for untrimmed styles, to which you can add personal accents. “It’s perfect, even if it’s not the right color you can add a little embellishment,” she said.

Colors range from basic black and white to light and hot pink, perfect for Kentucky Oaks Day at Churchill Downs where pink is the signature color. Fascinators are $24.99 and trimmed hats are $34.99.

In Central Kentucky, you’ll find the hats in Lexington at the Euclid Avenue Kroger and Marketplace locations on Tates Creek Road, Richmond Road and Beaumont Centre, and at Marketplaces in Versailles, Georgetown and Richmond.
