‘Mary Poppins’
The Paul Laurence Dunbar drama program presents the classic musical Mary Poppins. Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Dunbar’s James R. Halley Theatre, 1600 Man ‘o War Boulevard. Tickets are $10 for students, $12 for adults. A tea with the characters will be at 1 p.m. Saturday. Kite festival
Kites will fill the skies of Jacobson Park from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lexington Parks and Recreation’s annual celebration. The free day of fun will include kite-flying, kite-making and kite history. Children’s activities will include a giant inflatable slide, an obstacle course, face-painting, Explorium of Lexington events and a Zumba class for kids, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. The Chinese School will perform music and dance beginning at 2:15 p.m. Food vendors will also be on-site throughout the afternoon, or bring a picnic lunch.
Josh Wolf
The comedian and actor, who was a regular guest and writer on E!’s Chelsea Lately, brings his stand-up act to Comedy Off Broadway at The Mall at Lexington Green. Shows are 7:15 and 9:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 7:15 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 to $17. Call 859-271-5653 or go to Comedyoffbroadway.com.
Market 301
Vendors will sell locally made jewelry, graphic T-shirts, ceramics and more from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Manchester Music Hall, 399 Manchester Street. Admission is free. Go to Themarket301.com for more info.
