Best Bets: BreyerFest, Blues Brews and BBQ Fest, Conductors’ Fest, Bluegrass Fest

Fans of the collectible model horses will gather at the Kentucky Horse Park for seminars, demos, shopping and more. Events are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Single-day tickets are $15. 1-800-413-3348. Breyerhorses.com.

Blues Brews and BBQ Festival

Taste barbecue from some of the top smokehouses in Louisville and sample craft beers and Four Roses Bourbon cocktails. The weekend of live music will include performances by Nora Jean Bruso and John Primer. It’s 5 to 11:30 p.m. Friday, 4 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Louisville Water Tower in Louisville. International Conductors’ Festival — Danville

The two-week classical music festival features the Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra from Manchester, England, joined by guest conductors from around the world for workshops, kid-friendly activities, open rehearsals and free concerts. Events in and around Danville continue through July 30.

Free concerts include one at 8 p.m. Friday at Centre College’s Norton Center for the Arts and another 6 p.m. Saturday at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg. One repertoire — including the works of Felix Mendelssohn, W.A. Mozart, Franz Schubert and Ludwig Van Beethoven, as well as premieres of new pieces by contemporary artists — will be played by the orchestra on both nights, but with a different conductor each time. Pickin’ For the Kids Bluegrass Concert

Two days of live bluegrass music will feature performances by the Dean Osborne Band, The Moron Brothers, Custom Made Bluegrass, Laurel River Line and others. It’s 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, indoors at the Laurel-London Optimist Sports Complex, 383 Sinking Creek Rd in London. Tickets are $5 at the gate Friday, $15 at the gate Saturday, free for ages 12 and younger. Proceeds benefit the Laurel-London Optimist Club Needy Family Christmas Program.
