White House Official Calls Jimmy Kimmel 'S*** Human Being' Amid Trump Drama

A White House official is standing by Donald Trump's side amid the president's feud with Jimmy Kimmel.

"Jimmy Kimmel is a s*** human being for: #1. Making a disgusting joke about assassinating the President," assistant to the president and White House director of communications Steven Cheung wrote via X on Tuesday, April 28. "#2. Doubling down on that joke instead of doing the decent thing by apologizing."

Cheung also called for ABC to terminate Kimmel as host of his late night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!

"ABC needs to fire him immediately and he should be shunned for the rest of his life," Cheung concluded.

Trump and Kimmel's latest drama comes after the comedian joked that first lady Melania Trump had a "glow like an expectant widow" in a monologue that aired days before the White House Correspondents' Dinner.

When the event took place in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, April 25, gunfire erupted and a Secret Service agent was injured. The president, first lady and additional administration officials were safely evacuated from the Washington Hilton ballroom. Authorities arrested the suspected shooter, Cole Tomas Allen.

Allen was later charged with "one count of attempt to assassinate the President of the United States, transportation of a firearm and ammunition in interstate commerce with intent to commit a felony, and discharge of a firearm during a crime of violence," per the Justice Department. He has not entered a plea.

Following the incident, both Donald and Melania called out Kimmel for his rhetoric, with the president even urging ABC to fire him from the network.

"His monologue about my family isn't comedy - his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America," Melania tweeted. "People like Kimmel shouldn't have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate."

Kimmel addressed Melania's remarks during the Monday, April 27, episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

"This was Thursday. There was no big reaction to it, until this morning, when I greeted the day facing yet another Twitter vomit storm and a call to fire me from our first lady, Melania Trump, saying I should be fired because of a joke I made, again, five nights ago. It was a pretend roast," he explained. "It obviously was a joke about their age difference and the look of joy we see on her face every time they're together."

Kimmel continued, "It was a very light roast joke about the fact that he's almost 80 and she's younger than I am. It was not, by any stretch of the definition, a call to assassination, and they know that. I've been very vocal for many years, speaking out against gun violence, but I understand that the first lady had a stressful experience over the weekend, and probably every weekend is pretty stressful in that house."

Kimmel also denied that his rhetoric is hateful and ended his message to the Trump family on a sincere note.

"I am sorry that you, and the president and everyone in that room went through that. I really am," he said. "Just because no one got killed doesn't mean it was not traumatic and scary. We should come together and be best."
