West Sixth has a new drink they say is unlike anything they’ve made before

West Sixth Brewing has decided to go pink for Spring.

The Lexington-based craft brewer is producing a new seasonal beverage they say is unlike anything they’ve made before.

Rosé Crusher is inspired by rosé wine but is technically a cider, the craft beer maker says. It’s brewed with apple, grape, peach and elderberry juices for a drink reminiscent of a classic Rosé wine — even with a pink hue.

The popular Kentucky beer maker, founded in 2012, says the 5% alcohol by volume Rosé Crusher isn’t like other ciders West Sixth produces. They say the new seasonal release has a light fruity body, a zippy finish, plus it’s an easier sip than traditional rosé wine.

“We crafted Rosé Crusher for those craving a fruit-forward beverage who don’t necessarily reach for beer or traditional drier cider,” said Kelly Hieronymus, creative and marketing director for West Sixth. “We designed the can with a shimmering disco ball to reflect the playfulness of the beverage and to reflect a less formal feel. This addition to our lineup stands out, and I think will be a favorite for current West Sixth fans, while bringing along some new ones to the party.”

Starting in March through the end of July, Rosé Crusher will be available to buy on draft and in 6-packs at all West Sixth locations in Lexington, Louisville, Frankfort and the new taproom in Covington. It can also be purchased at retail locations.
