Fans of rare bourbon will have the chance to participate in a lottery to purchase limited releases, including Old Forester Birthday Bourbon and Old Fitzgerald 11 Year Bottled in Bond.

The Liquor Barn Bourbon Lottery will feature some of the most sought-after and expensive bourbons released in the last year.

Several locations of Liquor Barn, including two in Lexington, will hold a Bourbon Lottery on March 29. Wristbands will be distributed to the first 1,500 people from 7 to 8:45 a.m. local time.

Lottery winners will be chosen at random from 9 to 10 a.m. Must be present to win a chance to purchase a bottle. Limit of one bottle per winner. Must be 21 or older.

Bottles available for purchase at suggested retail prices include Michter’s 20 year, King of Kentucky, Old Fitzgerald 11 Year Bottled in Bond, Old Forester Birthday Bourbon, Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel, Elmer T. Lee and Penelope Havana.

Liquor Barn also has done lotteries for its Pappy Van Winkle bourbon and rye whiskey releases in the past but this is the first time they’ve done one for other rare releases, according to the store.

Each store will have at least one bottle of each available for the lottery and can be purchased for the regular store price.
