Lexington chef joining next ‘Brown in the South’ lineup
Samantha Fore and her Tuk Tuk Sri Lankan Bites will be in the culinary spotlight again: She’s been invited to participate in the second “Brown in the South” Supper Series event.
It’s coming up Aug. 13 at Nashville’s Chauhan Ale & Masala House, to benefit the Southern Foodways Alliance.
It’s the latest high-profile turn for Fore, who recently cooked for the SFA’s symposium in Lexington as well as for “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi.
Other featured chefs for this dinner will include Maneet Chauhan of Chauhan Ale and Masala House in Nashville; Vish Bhatt of Snackbar in Oxford, Miss.; Cheetie Kumar of Garland in Raleigh, N.C.; Meherwan Irani of Chai Pani in Asheville, N,C,; Asha Gomez of The Third Space in Atlanta; and Farhan Momin of Tava Indian Bistro in Decatur, GA.
The chefs will cook a multicultural family style Indian summer dinner, with a Bollywood style dance party afterward. Tickets are $125 per person, available through southernfoodways.org.
