Feel like reliving childhood and playing with your food? The University of Kentucky Art Museum is inviting “all hipsters, fashionistas, young professionals and solid citizens to the most outrageous fundraiser in Lexington and beyond,” a House Party at Carrick House, 312 North Limestone, beginning at 7:30 p.m. April 9.

Celebrity chef Dan Wu and pastry chef Martine Holzman will serve re-imagined TV dinners; Maker’s Mark and West Sixth Brewing will bring the drinks. There will be arcade games, 3-D printers, food paintings, fire-pit s’mores, soft sculpting, home movies, Rubik’s Cube masters and WRFL deejays for entertainment. Tickets are $75 online at singletarycenter.com or at the door. Proceeds support the museum’s free admission policy.

▪  Trish Tungate, former chef/owner of The Dish, and John Tresaloni, owner of Cosmic Charlie’s, are bringing a new bar/restaurant to the former a la lucie space at 159 North Limestone. Minglewood will be open in early June for lunch and dinner, with a full bar, according to Tungate.

Tungate said they have been working on the menu and concept for a “new little watering hole” for downtown but were waiting for the right spot. With the closing of Lucie Slone-Meyers’ iconic restaurant in November, the corner space became available.

The menu will feature shared plate items for dinner, including dishes that they have enjoyed on their travels to the Caribbean and out West. “Some of the dishes will be favorite stuff we found along the way,” she said. They also plan to have live music on weekends.

Tungate and Tresaloni are renovating the early 1900s-era building, exposing the brick walls and refinishing the wood floor. “It’s going to be really gorgeous when we’re done,” she said.

▪  Good news, bad news from the Lexington Farmers Market: The good news is that the Saturday market will be open under the pavilion from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturda,y and the Sunday market will return to Southland Drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with many regular vendors offering chicken, eggs, beef, pork, goat, lamb, greens including kale, garlic, cornmeal, beans, pantry items and more, including coffee, cheese, honey, wine, baby green garlic and barbecue.

Now the bad news: According to market manager Josh England, the downtown market won’t offer discounted parking at the Financial Center across Main Street due to a change in the parking management system. The base rate for the garage is $2 for the first half hour and $1 for each additional half hour.

“We know this will be an inconvenience and a frustration,” England wrote in an email. “We are working diligently to secure additional discounted parking for our customers but are yet to reach any agreement. Until then, we encourage you to use metered street spots which are free on the weekends or visit our Sunday market.”

▪  The Liberty Road Café, 720 Henry Clay Boulevard, is now open. The cafe is serving lunch, including two homemade soups daily, and a variety of sandwiches and salads, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cafe has a cold case with Selma Owens’ homemade chicken salad, potato salad, pimento cheese, beer cheese, plus spinach and artichoke dip and corn dip for heat and serve, as well as desserts. Call 859-971-2763.

▪  The Glitz at Irish Acres, 4205 Fords Mill Road in Nonesuch outside Versailles, will reopen on April 1 for its 30th season. The Glitz serves a three-course lunch from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday for $22.95 plus tax and tip. Reservations recommended; call 859-873-7235. Through April 21, the menu includes either gingered carrot soup, beet and goat cheese salad or seafood crepe for appetizer; salmon vol au vent or chicken fontina di Lucca II for entree; and either the Nonesuch Kiss, coconut cream basket, lemon basket, or wild berry sorbet for dessert.

▪  For April, Greentree Tea Room, 521 West Short Street, will serve spring vegetable soup; blueberry scone with blueberry curd and Fayette cream; luncheon hot brown; chicken salad, cucumber with Parmesan and olive nut tea sandwiches; lemon pound cake; strawberry pannacotta; chocolate truffles; and spring tea blend.
