Bluegrass Hospitality Group will open a Drake’s bar and restaurant in Nicholasville next year.

According to spokeswoman Amber Cook, BHG closed Friday on property in Brannon Crossing.

Plans filed in March with the City of Nicholasville indicated that BHG was planning to develop two spots at the corner of East Brannon and Lancer Drive.

Bluegrass Hospitality Group is owned by Brian McCarty and Bruce Drake, who have developed several restaurant concepts in Lexington, including Drake’s, Malone’s, Harry’s American Bar & Grill, Aqua Sushi, OBC Kitchen and Malone’s Prime Events & Receptions.

There are eight Drake’s locations in Lexington; Louisville; Florence; Knoxville; Cool Springs, Tenn.; Indianapolis; and Huntsville, Ala.

Drake’s is a casual dining restaurant with a menu of “smashed burgers” made from fresh sirloin, sandwiches, salads, chili and upscale, family-friendly pub fare. Drake’s also features Aqua Sushi’s menu of sushi and Asian appetizers.
