DV8 Kitchen and Brasabana are planning a pop-up dinner that play off their menus with fun twists.

The event, which is Feb. 8 from 5 to 9 p.m., will benefit the DV8 Kitchen Foundation, which helps people find work and stay in recovery.

Chef Jeremy Ashby and chef Amy Harris of Brasabana will add a Cuban-inspired flair to DV8’s fare. The menu, which is a la carte, will include biscuits with chorizo gravy; a Latin wedge salad with black bean corn salsa, diced tomatoes, chorizo bacon, queso fresco and chipotle ranch dressing; jerk chicken tacos; a Cuban sandwich; and a banana tres leches cinnamon roll.

DV8 Kitchen, 867 South Broadway, is a social enterprise that offers second-chance employment as well as the opportunity to learn the baking trade. The restaurant is open daily for breakfast and lunch.

Owner Rob Perez said future chef takeovers are planned with other local restaurants. The events will help the DV8 Kitchen Foundation, which partners with Chrysalis House, the Community Action Council, Hope Center, Isaiah House Treatment Center, Jubilee Jobs, Lighthouse Ministries, Revive Life House, Shepherd’s House and Southland Christian Church.
