Kentucky Horse Park museum adds international events with food

The Kentucky Horse Park is adding international nights at the museum: celebrations of culture, complete with food.

The first, on March 2, takes place at the International Museum of the Horse and will celebrate the food, culture and history of India.

That night, hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Tandoor Fine Indian Cuisine, there will be a dance performances by Lakshmi Sriraman of Shree School of Dance, and a viewing of Julie Wayne’s documentary “From Earth to Earth.”

Guests will be invited to learn Indian-style dance routines, paint a ceremonial terracotta horse, and visit with the park’s resident Marwari horses, which hail from India.

The event is $10 in advance or $12 at the door; free for kids 12 and under. To order tickets, go to kyhorsepark.com under events, or call 859-259-4213.

Future events will celebrate Belgium (June 1); Japan (Aug. 31); and Mexico (Nov. 2.) Details will be posted closer to each event at kyhorsepark.com.
