A new breakfast place is coming to Lexington, and it’s a big one.
Hold onto your forks, Lexington: Tudor’s Biscuit World is coming.
“Yes, we are,” said Pat Tudor, one of the owners of the family-owned restaurant chain based in Huntington, W.Va.
The first Lexington location will be at 757 East New Circle Road, not far from the Richie’s Chicken that opened last year.
Tudor said Friday that the spot off the Winchester Road interchange will target “people on the go.”
Work on 48-seat restaurant is expected to start next month. He said it is projected to open this summer.
Tudor’s Biscuit World is “a fast-food breakfast joint,” Tudor said. This location will serve a streamlined menu for breakfast and lunch, 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., seven days a week.
They are known for their massive biscuit sandwiches, which are surprisingly cheap.
“You can eat pretty cheap here,” Tudor said. “You can get four biscuits for $5.95. And most people aren’t going to eat more than one. Unless they’re starving.”
They also serve breakfast wraps and breakfast platters as well as a lunch menu of sandwiches and burgers. The location will not serve dinner.
Tudor’s Biscuit World has a big following in West Virginia in particular; there are locations in Eastern Kentucky, including in Ashland, Paintsville and Grayson. But they’ve also been branching out, including one opening in Panama City, Fla.
“I’ve always loved the area,” Tudor said of Lexington.
