The first food event of 2021 is here: Lexington Vegan Week launches
We have turned the calendar page to a new year and now it’s time for a new food event. For the first time, local restaurants will participate in Lexington Vegan Week.
If that sounds bland and marginal, maybe it’s time to rethink: Because plant-based foods are one of the fastest growing categories in restaurants and in grocery stores. Sales of plant-based meats have more than doubled in the last year and are growing at a much faster rate than conventional products.
Many restaurants also have adjusted menus to go well beyond Beyond burgers, black beans or portobello mushroom options too.
This year, 19 Lexington dining spots will have specials, all for $10, available Jan. 4-10. Dishes will be offered during the restaurants’ normal business hours.
Check individual restaurants for days, hours and availability.
Here’s a list of participating restaurants in Lexington Vegan Week and what they will have.
