Restaurants News & Trends

Just one Kentucky restaurant made Yelp’s list of best brunches. And it’s in Lexington.

Mother’s Day is coming and thoughts are turning to brunch. Lexington has lots of great places to grab a mimosa and a stack of pancakes. But one place stands out, according to Yelp.

The online rating site has named a local Lexington restaurant to its list of Top 100 Brunch Spots in the U.S.

Which one made the cut?

DV8 Kitchen, which was the only Kentucky restaurant on Yelp’s list. The restaurant specializes in cinnamon rolls but has lots of other options that helped it become No. 40.

DV8 Kitchen has been recognized locally and nationally, including in the New York Times, for its focus on providing second-chance employment to people in recovery. But the menu is what keeps customers coming back for fresh salads, sandwiches and baked goods. It also was ranked second on Yelp’s 2020 Top 50 Places to Eat in Kentucky.

The restaurant is usually open only for breakfast, brunch and lunch but occasionally partners with other restaurants for special evening “menu takeovers” for a wide variety of non-profits that are very popular.

DV8 Kitchen is at 867 S. Broadway and is opening a second location on Midland and Third Street next to The MET later this spring.
