Bloody Marys, gourmet biscuits: New breakfast, lunch restaurant opens in Lexington
Lexington foodies, it’s raining carbs and pouring gravy: First Parlor Doughnuts opened on Euclid on Sunday and now Biscuit Belly opened on East Main Street.
Louisville-based Biscuit Belly, which is opening multiple locations in Lexington, officially opened its doors at 652 E. Main St. on Feb. 7. It’s in the former A&W burger restaurant that had been a Long John Silver’s before that.
The new fast-casual concept will be open for breakfast, brunch and lunch seven days a week. It also has a pick up window for online ordering and takeout.
The menu is built around gourmet biscuits sandwiching items such as buttermilk fried chicken and smoked brisket.
You can also get a few non-biscuit items including goetta and pancakes (check out the pancake corndog you dip in maple mayo sauce.) And there are gluten-free and vegetarian options, including a veggie gravy for your biscuits. Smoked or crunchy tofu can be substituted for other proteins but there are no vegan options at the moment.
Biscuit Belly also serves cocktails, including bloody Marys and mimosas.
