A new entertainment venue that promises to be “the most fun you can have under one roof” is coming to Lexington.

Main Event Entertainment, a Texas-based company, will open the new dining and entertainment center near Fayette Mall and New Circle Road, according to paperwork filed with the city.

Main Event did not immediately respond to a request for comment on when the new restaurant and venue is scheduled to open.

Work has begun on the new nearly 50,000-square-foot building going up at South Park shopping center at 3220 Nicholasville Rd., next to New Circle Road where a Dave & Buster’s had been planned before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and forced the company to retrench.

For years the location was a TGI Friday’s restaurant before it moved across the street closer to Fayette Mall and for a short time a Winger’s restaurant before it was torn down. The lot has been empty for several years.
