Rupp Arena is making it easier to get food, drinks and get back to your seat
Rupp Arena is adding two new concession options that are going to be big hits with fans.
The venue has added a new Kroger Corner convenience store area, outside of section 37, with grab and go items that range from bottled water and drinks to salads and veggies trays.
You can pick up a bag of caramel corn or a tub of Cheez-its, use the self-scanner and then swipe your card at the register to pay.
The other option, mobile ordering, will be rolling out to first to season ticket holders and eventually to everyone: It’s a QR code that will be sent to your phone that will let you order food from certain concessions stands and then you go pick it up.
You pay on the app and just pick up your nachos and get back to your seat.
“The whole goal around this customer experience is letting them enjoy what they’ve paid to see — the game, the concert, Disney on Ice — and give them the opportunity to purchase food and beverage and not have to miss any of that,” said Brian Sipe, Rupp Arena general manager.
The venue’s outside concessions such as Chick-fil-A will not be on the online ordering app, he said.
And the ice cream won’t be either: You’ll still have to stand in line for Taylor Belle’s Blue Madness or a cone of Rupp’s famous soft-serve.
