Krispy Kreme, McDonald’s expands doughnut test to Lexington. When, where and the menu.
Big news, doughnut lovers: A potential partnership between McDonald’s and Krispy Kreme is expanding into Lexington.
McDonald’s announced last fall that nine Louisville-area restaurants would be adding select Krispy Kreme doughnuts to the menu for a limited time.
Now, the test run is being expanded to about 160 locations across Lexington, Louisville and the surrounding Kentucky area. Beginning March 21, you’ll be able to order the original glazed Krispy Kreme, chocolate iced with sprinkles and chocolate iced Kreme-filled doughnuts at McDonald’s. (Raspberry-filled glazed, which were on the original lineup in Louisville, appear to have been dropped.)
“The expanded test will help us learn more about operational impact on a larger scale as well as explore customer demand,” McDonald’s said in a news release on Monday.
Doughnuts are available all day in-restaurant, at the drive thru, via McDelivery and on the McDonald’s App.
The doughnuts are delivered fresh daily from Krispy Kreme to the McDonald’s restaurants, according to the release.
