Lexington is getting more coffee and doughnuts: Dunkin’ is expanding.

Gary Holland, owner of One Holland restaurant group, said that he plans to open a new Dunkin’ with a drive-thru off Nicholasville Road at 2304 Norman Lane, in front of the Kroger grocery store.

The coffee shop will be going into a vacant bank building just off Lowry Lane in Regency Center, facing one of Lexington’s busiest roads.

Holland said Monday that they location is expected to open in 2024.

It will be the second new Dunkin’ Holland is opening in Lexington next year: The first will be opening in the former LaRosa’s Pizzeria on Richmond Road.

That location is expected to open in February or March. The LaRosa’s pizza restaurant closed in July; the last Central Kentucky location of LaRosa’s — a carry-out only restaurant on Southland Drive — closed Nov. 12.

Holland said that they considered putting a Dunkin’ there but had already planned on the location in front of the Kroger store. He is looking for a new tenant for the Southland Drive spot.

Although Dunkin’ sells doughnuts and other items, the primary business is coffee to go, Holland said. “That’s 75 to 80% of the business.”
