New Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, sandwich restaurant coming to Lexington
Lovers of deep-dish pizza and Italian beef sandwiches will soon have a new pizzeria to try.
Rosati’s Pizza is bringing its authentic Chicago-style pizza to The Venue shopping center at Nicholasville Road and Malabu Drive.
According to its website, Rosati’s will open its first Lexington location at 148 Malabu Drive, Suite 160, next to Club Pilates. The chain started in Chicago but now there are about 200 locations across the U.S.
This will be the first location in Kentucky.
A spokesperson for Rosati’s said it hopes to open in early June. The location will have limited dine-in seating as well as pick-up and delivery but no drive-thru. The restaurant also will have “a pour-your-own beer option.”
Rosati’s Pizza was founded in 1964 and claims to serve Chicago’s greatest thin crust pizza. The menu also includes traditional Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, calzones, pastas, wings, sandwiches including Italian beef, and Chicago-style hot dogs.
The restaurant chain claims it is known for great service and quality ingredients.
What’s Chicago-style pizza?
Traditionally, Chicago-style pizza is a deep-dish crust, filled with mozzarella cheese with tomato sauce on top.
Rosati’s also does thin crust and double-dough pizzas, which have twice the crusts, one right on top of the other for a thicker bottom.
Chicago-style sandwiches
Rosati’s also serves hearty Chicago-style sandwiches including Italian beef, Italian sausage, meatball Parmigiana and chicken Parmigiana.
