A popular Lexington Japanese restaurant has opened not one but two new locations.
Osaka Japanese Restaurant, known for its sushi, hibachi and tempura, quietly opened the new Great Acres restaurant near Masterson Station on Oct. 15. Meanwhile, another location opened at Oct. 1 inside the Holiday Inn at 1976 Justice Dr. in Hamburg.

They joined the original Boston Road location of the family-operated business.
Su Chen, who opened the Masterson Station location, said her sister is running the new Hamburg location.

Both locations feature the same expansive menu that covers raw and cooked sushi as well as teriyaki and other traditional favorites.

The Leestown Road location in Great Acres is between Ramsey’s Diner and Biscuit Belly.
Inside, it has a sushi bar area where you can select fish and watch the chef prepare it. There also is table seating for teriyaki, hibachi and other traditional Japanese dishes as well as a sake bar area.

The restaurant is waiting on its liquor license; once approved, it will serve sake, wine, beer and cocktails.
Chen said Osaka aims to have something for everyone, no matter their taste, including options for vegetarians. And their soy sauce is housemade, low-sodium and gluten-free, she said.
