Tacos, churro fries, hot sauce and more: New Tex-Mex restaurant opens near Hamburg
A new Tex-Mex restaurant has opened in Lexington.
Tijuana Flats, a Florida-based taco chain that also boasts its own hot sauce line, opened Dec. 18.
The restaurant, at 2344 Elkhorn Rd., Suite 100, is in front of Lowe’s just off Winchester Road near I-75 and the Hamburg shopping area.
This is the first Kentucky location; at least two more are planned for the Lexington/Central Kentucky area.
What’s on the menu at Tijuana Flats?
The menu includes tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, flautas and other Tex-Mex favorites, all made from scratch when you order.
Signature dishes include the Garlic Lime Shrimp Tacos and the Street Tacos.
Everything is served with fresh jalapenos, onions, lettuce and tomatoes and comes with fresh tortilla chips automatically.
Sides include queso, salsa, guacamole, cilantro lime rice, refried beans, black beans, corn salsa and churro fries. And there’s a Churro Sundae for dessert.
Family meal kits and catering orders also available.
Tijuana Flats also features the Hot Bar, a bar of specialty hot sauces from sweet to ultra spicy.
Restaurant founder Brian Wheeler also has his own hot sauce line called “Smack My Ass & Call Me Sally” that you can also order online.
