New Lexington restaurant coming to Fayette Mall spot that sat empty for 5 years
A fast-growing, new-to-Lexington burger chain with ties to an American auto icon is moving into a long-vacant location near Fayette Mall.
Ford’s Garage, a burger and craft beer restaurant inspired by the history of The Ford Motor Company, will open late this year in the former location of Logan’s Roadhouse in The Plaza at Fayette Mall at 140 Rojay Drive. The steakhouse closed in 2020 during the COVID pandemic and has been empty since.
A vintage atmosphere and memorabilia exclusively licensed and inspired by the Ford Motor Company are at the forefront of the restaurant, which was founded in 2012..
Does Ford’s Garage have a lot of car decorations?
The nostalgic décor gives the feel of a 1920s service station, including vintage vehicles, car-part fixtures and gas pumps. A Model T or Model A car is suspended above the bar, which will have an emphasis on local breweries. And servers dish out meals wearing mechanic shirts.
Napkins are blue shop towels you’ll likely find in a garage. An unexpected fan-favorite can be found in the bathroom: sinks made from tires and fuel pump nozzles.
What’s on the menu at Ford’s Garage?
In addition to the classic auto decoration, Ford’s Garage is known for its burgers. The menu features 12 hamburgers, each made with Black Angus beef. Burgers are made with all-natural aged cheeses, fresh toppings and sauces on artisan buns branded with the Ford’s Garage logo.
Served with Ford’s Fries, burger prices range from $15.50 for the American Standard (American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion and pickle planks on a brioche bun) to $18.99 for the Bison Bacon (bison burger with sharp cheddar, bacon jam, bourbon BBQ sauce, arugula, onion ring and chipotle aioli on a brioche bun).
Burgers are also available in vegetarian options.
But if a hamburger is not your lane, you can switch gears to some comfort menu items like homemade meatloaf, mac n’ cheese, fish n’ chips and ribs.
There’s also a selection of sandwiches, such as Smoked Brisket Burnt Ends Melt ($17.99) and Monte Cristo ($16.99).
A menu of 10 appetizers is highlighted by Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna ($14.99) and Giant Funnel Tower of Jumbo Piston Onion Rings ($12.99).
There’s a small selection of soups, led by Angus Beef Chili ($7.50), but if you’re looking for a more fuel-efficient fare, five salads are on the menu, including the Blackened Salmon Salad ($18.99).
Renovations have started at former Logan’s location
A Northern Kentucky Ford’s Garage restaurant opened in Florence in 2022. The new Lexington location is part of an aggressive expansion of the brand that today includes 30 locations across eight states. By the end of 2027, they hope to have 75 open locations.
Renovations have started at Ford’s Garage Lexington restaurant, which is next to El Asadero Bar & Mexican Grill near Fayette Mall. Recently, workers were seen removing many items still left behind from the closed Logan’s Roadhouse, including wooden benches and speakers.
Logan’s was founded in 1991 in Lexington. The original restaurant in the chain on Broadway closed in 2017. There is a location open in Hamburg.
