A locally owned dessert shop has decided to close in the popular Brannon Crossing shopping center.

Frozen in Time said in a social media post it will be “a difficult goodbye” and they will be closing at the end of July.

The family-owned store is located at 189 E. Brannon Road, near European Delights Bakery and Bellacino’s Pizza & Grinders in a part of the Nicholasville shopping center located just past the Fayete-Jessamine county line.

In the social media post, the store said it was a hard decision to close.

“A combination of rising costs and other financial challenges has made it difficult for us to continue operating sustainably,” the post said. “While this chapter is coming to a close, we are so grateful for the memories, smiles, and sweet moments we’ve shared with this incredible community.”

The announcement comes after another Central Kentucky dining stop, Spark Community Cafe in Versailles, said on social media it’s last day was going to be June 29.

Frozen in Time opened in April 2022 with vanilla and chocolate custard and premium soft-serve ice cream in homemade waffle cones, cake cones, sundaes, shakes and “tornadoes” blended with toppings. They also had two flavors of the popular Dole whip, which many found light and refreshing on warm days.

In the social media post, the owners were thankful for the support of a small business.

“From first cones to last-day treats, YOU have made this journey unforgettable,” the post said.
