Fieri’s ‘Diners, Drive-ins and Dives’ visits a KY pizza spot. When to watch
A wood-fired pizzeria in Northern Kentucky will feature on a popular Food Network show this week.
In a Facebook post, Camporosso in Fort Mitchell announced July 10 it would appear in an episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” with the episode set to air at 9 p.m. EDT Friday, July 11.
The feature follows a visit from Food Network star, restauranteur and best-selling author Guy Fieri, who sampled the pizzeria’s bucatini pasta and a special Neapolitan-style pizza.
“Tune in to see how it went down,” Camporosso teased in its social media post.
Some of Camporosso’s most popular dishes include its soppressata hot honey, and prosciutto and fig pizzas, according to Yelp reviewers. But it offers more than just pizza, with house-made meatballs and other antipasti dishes, salads and pasta on the menu.
In 2024, Camporosso was named the Pizzeria of the Year by Pizza Today, according to its website.
Eric Redfield, who owns Camporosso with his wife Amy, wrote in a Friday email that he credited the 2024 recognition from Pizza Today for helping to draw the eye of the show’s research team. Additionally, last year Redfield gave the keynote address at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas, he said. Camporosso went through an extensive vetting process that included several interviews before appearing on the show.
“Their film crew was very professional and great to work with and Guy Fieri was as cool and genuine in person as he is on all of the shows,” Redfield told the Herald-Leader.
In “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” host Fieri hits the road to explore the country’s “greasy spoon” restaurants, learning their stories and often boosting their fortunes along the way.
The long-running and award-winning show has featured several Kentucky restaurants, including the Parkette Drive-In before its closure and Wallace Station deli in nearby Versailles.
