Lexington Pizza Week: Here’s the menu of $10 specials from local restaurants

A popular Lexington foodie event is back with more participating local restaurants than ever.

Lexington Pizza Week is Sept. 22-28, with 17 local places serving up off-menu specialty pizzas for just $10.

The annual Smiley Pete event, which started in 2015, includes restaurants that will serve at least one meat and one veggie pizza in a 10-inch pie, or two extra-large slices. There is even a dessert pizza among the 37 specialty pizzas being offered.

There are several new local restaurants this year including Dingbats, Parlour, Joe Bologna’s, Crust, Rosati’s, and Apollo Pizza.

“Lexington Pizza Week is all about community, bringing people together, supporting our local restaurants, and celebrating the creativity that makes our food scene so special,” said Amy Eddie, director of Lexington Pizza Week. “We’re thrilled to welcome so many new participants this year, while also showcasing the restaurants people look forward to every single Pizza Week.”

Apollo Pizza

Super Crunch Bros Cheeseburger Pizza: Apollo classic sauce, ground beef, three-cheese blend and a sprinkle of cheddar, topped with hand-breaded fried pickles.

The Green Mamba: House-blended pesto ranch sauce, feta cheese, fresh spinich, three-cheese blend.

Big City Pizza

The Drunken Rooster: Pepper jack beer cheese, smoky bacon and bourbon glaze, with breaded chicken and a blast of sizzling jalapenos.

The Mac Daddy: White cheddar Mac n’ cheese base, a healthy sprinkle of Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses, adorned with crushed Grippos.
