A new Central Kentucky location of a popular Frankfort restaurant appears to have closed permanently after being open less than five months.

Serafini, a cornerstone of dining in the state’s capital known for its Italian food and extensive bourbon collection, opened a second location in June, located in Lawrenceburg. Serafini has become a popular stop for Kentucky bourbon tourists, as well as lawmakers.

The restaurant announced the additional spot at 115 S. Main St. in Lawrenceburg in late April with social media posts. The Anderson County Chamber of Commerce held a grand opening there in July.

Restaurant owner John Senter did not immediately respond to a request for comment on why the Lawrenceburg location closed. No one responded to calls at the restaurants on Friday morning.

Serafini Restaurant in Frankfort remains open.
