MOD Pizza is closing its Tates Creek Road location in Lexington.

A sign posted on the front door of the restaurant in the Tates Creek Centre says the location is “closing for good.”

The build-your-own pizza chain’s two other locations in Hamburg and in Georgetown are still open, the sign said.

“We hope you are able to satisfy your MOD cravings at one of these locations,” the sign said. “We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause our loyal guests.”

Brown paper is taped on the front windows of the restaurant, which is between the Tates Creek Animal Hospital and several other stores at the shopping center, including a Walgreens and a Kroger.

A public relations and marketing firm that works with MOD Pizza did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday afternoon.

In July 2024, Mod Super Fast Pizza Holdings was acquired by Elite Restaurant Group in a deal that helped Mod avoid declaring bankruptcy, according to Restaurant Dive.

The acquisition took place after MOD closed 44 underperforming locations.
