Varnish Nail Shoppe opened on Tuesday at 706 North Limestone. Cara Larkin, Candace Reichbach and Shelly Fortune are partners in the business, which uses nontoxic, cruelty-free products for manicures and pedicures.

“Customers can rest assured that nothing we use is tested on animals or contains animal derivatives, down to our hand soap,” Larkin said. Brands include Zoya, Smith & Cult, NCLA, Comfort Zone and Aprés.

Gel polish is cured with an LED light, not UV lights.
